In the TRICARE ID field, please enter either the 11-digit DoD Benefits Number (DBN) or the 9-digit sponsor Social Security Number (SSN) (without dashes).
The 11-digit DBN appears on the back of the card as shown in the examples below. If the back of the beneficiary’s ID card does not display the DBN,
continue to use the 9-digit sponsor SSN as the TRICARE ID.
Note: The 10-digit DoD ID number that appears on the front of the DoD ID card should not be entered in the TRICARE ID field as it is unrelated
to TRICARE health benefits.
